Unleash The Beast: American Roots Edition Sets Sights on Del Rio for Back-to-Back Days of Action, February 13-14
For the first time, PBR (Professional Bull Riders) – the world’s top Western sports organization – is setting its sights on historic Del Rio, Texas and Val Verde County Fairgrounds for a premier series stop, the fourth event of the 2021 season. Back-to-back days of white-knuckle action on the banks of the Rio Grande will take place February 13-14.
The stop in Del Rio is a key event in the Unleash The Beast (UTB): American Roots Edition, a trail-blazing retro tour bringing the world’s Top 30 bull riders to iconic outdoor rodeo venues across the southern U.S., giving fans 42 head-to-head matchups of man vs. beast each day. The first ever premier series visit to Del Rio, the 2021 PBR Del Rio Invitational is another chance for 2021 PBR World Champion hopefuls to pick up crucial points towards the coveted gold buckle and $1 million end of year bonus, but the toughest athletes on Earth will have to get past the best bovine athletes in the nation for eight seconds first.
Tickets for the 2 p.m. CT competition on both Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14 will be on-sale at 10 a.m. MT today. Tickets can be purchased by phone by calling 1-800-732-1727 or online at PBRTIX.com. Adult general admission tickets start at $50, children 5-12 at $15 and ages five and under are admitted free. VIP box seats, closest to the thrills and spills of America’s original extreme sport, start at $65 per person.
As a part of PBR’s industry leading safety protocols that have allowed fans to return to venues safely and responsibly since July of 2020, fans will be socially distanced to minimize crossover and interaction between fan groups.
– In addition to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-informed screenings, all PBR personnel will undergo COVID-19 testing and be required to wear masks.
– Social distancing will be encouraged at concession and merchandise stands, restrooms, and other high-traffic areas.
For an enhanced PBR experience, fans can now purchase PBR Elite Experiences, which provide a behind-the-chutes look into the toughest sport on dirt.
Elite Experience options include pre-event question and answer sessions with top riders, bullfighters and stock contractors, bull housing tours, commemorative memorabilia, and more.
