Del Rio pro angler Ray Hanselman Jr. will look to regroup after a rough start to this year’s Bassmaster Elite Series.
Hanselman finished 90th at the first tour stop of the year this week, the 2021 AFTCO Bassmaster Elite at St. Johns River at Palatka, Fla.
Hanselman weighed in a total of six fish in the first two days of competition for a combined weight of 10 pounds, 1 ounce. He weighed in one bass for 2 pounds, 11 ounces on the first day of competition Thursday, but had a better day Friday with five bass that weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces.
Unfortunately, his two-day total left him well shy of the cutoff weight of 22 pounds, 6 ounces that would allow him to fish in Saturday’s semifinals.
The next Elite series stop will be the Tennessee River at Knoxville Feb. 25-28.
