5 p.m. closure update

Del Rio is very quiet as HEB’s shelves fully stocked and everyone is working hard to stay warm.

Here’s the updates we are aware of and were able to confirm. If you are aware of a closure, especially a worship service, please post in our Facebook comments to this story and help us keep the community informed. 

What’s Opening

City opened a warming center at the Chihuahua Center at 1401 Las Vacas Center at 6 p.m.

Not happening 

All SFDR-CISD activities are canceled throughout the weekend.

Esperanza First Baptist Church

Monday impacts

SFDR-CISD 

Elementary classes will begin at 9:45 a.m. with bus routes beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Secondary classes (6th – 12th grade) will begin at 10:30 a.m., with bus routes beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Staff Reporting Times

Security Personnel: Report at 7:00 a.m.

Essential Staff (Cafeteria staff, Custodians and Maintenance): Report at 8:30 a.m.

All Campus Staff: Report 45 minutes prior to start of classes

Non-Campus Administrative and Support Staff: Report at 10:00 a.m.

City of Del Rio non-essential offices will open at 1 p.m. Monday.

All Val Verde County offices will open at 10 a.m. Monday. This includes Val Verde courts. Road crew members need to contact supervisors. 

We will post another update before 10 p.m., hopefully with a very current list of worship cancellations.
