Congrats to Ed Hernandez, aka El Musico, aka the guy who drums in half the bands in the region.
Friday’s Drive-in Music Concert was his vision and he managed to pull together a team that made it happen.
He got KDLK on board, he got the Suday Empire on board, most importantly, he got 4 bands and a rapper on board.
He also built a team that did everything from park cars to Leo, the guy who kept El Musico organized and was key to making it happen.
Everyone saw the need for the music, for something to do, however, few could figure out a way to safely do it in a COVID proof environment.
Due to El Musico’s vast musical experience, he had a friend who’d seen it done in Mexico, so El Musico brought the idea and executed it here.
One-hundred and twenty cars and trucks with four to six music lovers apiece inside, filled Villa Bonita. They all enjoyed, for the most part, the four plus hours of music and the musicians enjoyed stepping back into a stage.
Edward, for the taste of normalcy, we all say thank you.
The best part may be that El Musico knows it can work and is negotiating with other artists for a Spring version.
