DEL RIO – THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY (DPS) is investigating a Three-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on March 15, 2023, at approximately 12:30 p.m., on US 90 in Val Verde County. Preliminary investigation revealed a 2020 red Cadillac passenger car was traveling westbound on US Highway 90 W and 412mile marker in Val Verde County. The 2017 silver Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling eastbound on US 90. There was a 2018 black GMC Yukon that was at the Dollar General store waiting to turn. The Cadillac was waiting to make a turn into the Dollar General. The Chevrolet Tahoe took evasive action to not trying to collided with the Cadillac then collided with the Chevrolet that was forced into GMC Yukon. All passengers from the other units were all transported to Val Verde Hospital. Due to injuries sustained the passenger of the Cadillac and as a result, Dan William Lloyd 88, (obituary here) from Del Rio was pronounced deceased at the Val Verde Hospital. DPS troopers will be investigating this fatal crash.
