Firehouse holds Treasure Island auditions

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of Treasure Island Monday, July 29 and at the Civic Center/Red Oak Room from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Those auditioning should arrive at 11:45 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Among the roles to be cast are Jim Hawkins, his mother and sisters, a rollicking Pirate Crew, Jim’s Ruffian friends, seacoast Mariners, shining Treasures, a mysterious Stranger, and cuddly Gulls. Students, grades 1st through 12th grade, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, and props.  MCT Tour Actor and Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 11:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. (session 1) or 2:00-4:00 p.m. (session 2) each day.

Treasure Island will be presented on Saturday, August 3 at 3:00 and 5:30 p.m. at the Civic Center.
