Valentine’s Day is literally right around the corner, and we don’t have a complete list of EVERY Valentine’s Day opportunity in Del Rio, but we found some of the major ones.
So, here’s your Valentine’s Day planning made easy!
The Good Bar – The Good Bar Steakhouse, 1530 US-90, will have couple’s specials from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15. The restaurant will seat walk-ins but will only take reservations for parties of six or more.
The couple’s specials include two rib eyes at $119, two fillets at $129 and two three-pound tomahawk steaks at $149. All the specials include sides, salads, appetizers, drinks and desserts. Jose Guadarrama, owner of the Good Bar, said ladies who order the specials will receive a complimentary glass of rosé wine.
Local musician Mia Galindo will provide music only on Feb. 14 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Ocho Dos Dos – Ocho Dos Dos, 822 S Main St., will be having a 22 oz ribeye dish for two people during Valentine’s Day weekend. The restaurant will also have drink specials, including a Strawberry French 75 for women and the Clean Sneak for men.
Carlos Faz, owner and general manager of Ocho Dos Dos, said the restaurant is booked for Valentine’s Day, but they are still accepting reservations for Thursday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 15.
Music will be provided by an Ocho Dos Dos house band Friday and La Gente Vinyl Club Saturday.
Cripple Creek Steakhouse – Cripple Creek Steakhouse, 5567 US-90, will be offering reserved Valentine’s Day-themed dinners on Feb. 14 with decorations, food and music.
People can preorder and prepay for a Valentine’s Day dinner experience with linens and flowers at $109 per person. Valentine’s Day drinks will be provided during the evening and Bridget Flores, manager at Cripple Creek, said they are working to provide more special dishes, including crème brûlée and fried cheesecake.
Once making a reservation over the phone or at Cripple Creek’s official website, guests will receive a text or email asking what dishes they would like to order.
Local musician Angel Baena will provide music for the event. Deadline for dinner reservations is Feb. 10. People can find more information on Cripple Creek’s official website here.
Comedy Night with Chona E – Molcajetes Restaurant, 901 Veterans Blvd., presents their Valentine’s Comedy Night with guest comedian Chona E on Feb. 14.
The event is promoted by the Mind Twist Comedy booking agency, owned by Del Rio native Irma Ruiz, who’s gone on to tour nationally and is making her mark on the Texas and national comedy scene. Molcajetes will have happy-hour specials and signature house favorites during the event.
Christian Mtanous, owner of Molcajetes, said Chona E is very popular in the Hispanic community. Chona E will also introduce new material exclusive to the show, and Mtanous said the event will be “something out of the ordinary” for couples to enjoy.
General admission will be $35, and a VIP meet-and-greet is available for $50. The VIP meet-and-greet will be at 6:30 p.m., general seating will be at 7 p.m., and the show will start at 8 p.m.

Mesquites Creek Outfitters – Sleeping Lady Bakery will be selling Valentine’s Day-themed pastries at Mesquite Creek Outfitters, 800 S Main St., on Feb. 14.
Mesquite will also have its cocktail-of-the-month special, called the Valentine’s Espresso Martini.
Pepper Bernal, manager at Mesquite, said the establishment will have a karaoke night on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Shane’s Whiskey and Bourbon House — Shane’s Whiskey and Bourbon House, 759 S. Main St., will offer $90 steak dinners on Feb. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The dinner will include an aguachile steak with a baked potato and bacon wrapped asparagus.
A bottle of champagne will be provided during the dinner, and the dessert of the evening will be strawberry shortcake and brownie.
Reservations for a Valentine’s Day dinner at Shane’s end Feb. 14 at 12 p.m., and Luke Gilliam, manager of Shane’s, said guests can reserve by contacting Shane’s official Facebook page.
Gorzugi’s at the Herald — 321 S Main St, Del Rio, is offering a five-course dinner for two on Feb. 14th for $125.
“You will have the pleasure of choosing from a carefully curated menu that offers a selection of delicious appetizers, fresh salads, refreshing beverages, succulent proteins, delectable sides and mouth-watering desserts,” said Hector Rodriguez. For an appetizer, diners will have a choice of fried mushrooms, jalapeno poppers, onion rings or cowboy corn nuggets.
The main course will be a choice of 6-ounce fillet, 12-ounce ribeye, chicken breast, salmon and 4 shrimp for each couple. Of course, there are sides and desserts.
When diners make their reservations, they will select a time frame for their meal. “People will have time choices of 5:30, 6:15, 7, 7:45, 8:30 or 9:15 p.m.,” Rodriguez said.
One couple will receive a free dinner for their Facebook efforts through a contest. The contest will be revealed on their Facebook page at about 5 p.m. Wednesday and the winner will be revealed at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
