Whether you’re in the mood for smoked brisket, scenic marathons, or a splash of street art, Del Rio has your weekend plans covered. From April 12 to 14, the city is buzzing with events for foodies, families, fitness junkies and fans of local culture.
Spring Fling
Jericho’s Foundation Inc., a Del Rio-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting veterans and cancer patients through entertainment events, is hosting its Annual Spring Festival Crawfish Boil this Sunday. Tickets are priced at $35, granting attendees unlimited crawfish and VIP access.
The event will include crawfish, Family Jewelz will play from 3:30 to 6 p.m., a cornhole tournament with $3,600 in guaranteed prizes. After the cornhole tournament, there will be a dart tournament inside Gorzugi’s at The Herald. Prize for darts is 80 percent of the money collected from the $10 entry fee.

Yukfest 15
For those craving color and culture, Yukfest 15 returns Saturday at Casa de la Cultura with its signature mix of art, music, local flavor and a focus on the environment. The event kicks off at 3 p.m. and there is a full line-up of bands throughout the day.
Some of the bands that will play are The Code 88s, Mugger, Executioners, Youlogy, Loaded Caliber, The Shades, Yugen, Waywardsoul and Oculus of Profanations.
Expect live performances, art exhibits, delicious bites, and that unmistakable Del Rio vibe. It’s a full-sensory celebration of community creativity. Organizers ask that people bring their recyclables with them.
Upstagers performance
The Upstagers, Del Rio’s award-winning community theater troupe, are set to present Samuel Beckett’s iconic play, Waiting for Godot, this weekend. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12, with additional shows on April 18 and 19. All performances will take place at the Del Rio Civic Center.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children and are available at Del Rio Feed and Supply at 111 East Gibbs; Diamond’s Salon at 709 East Gibbs; Paulino’s Service Center at 4220 Veterans Blvd. and Mesquite Creek Outfitters at 800 South Main St.
Devils River Run and Ride for Hope
Fitness meets fundraising in the Devils River Run and Ride for Hope, also on Saturday, held at the scenic McKenna Ranch.
Runners and cyclists will test their endurance across several rugged West Texas courses, all to benefit Brooke’s Blossoming Hope for Childhood Cancer Foundation. Events start bright and early at 7:15 a.m., and the views might just make you forget how sore you are.
Spring Market Adoption Event
On Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Spring Market Adoption Event takes over with shopping, sunshine and the chance to meet your future furry best friend at PetSense, located at 2413 Veterans Blvd.

Egg hunt
It’s Easter season, and the 2nd Annual Gather & Glorify Eggstravaganza at Buena Vista Park delivers the goods—egg hunts, games and loads of kid-friendly fun.
“This is about the true meaning of Easter,” said Andy Mitchell, one of the event’s coordinators said.
It’s a free event from 2 to 4 p.m. near Buena Vista Park’s baseball fields.
Families are encouraged to bring baskets, wear their pastels, and prepare for some hopping-good memories.
Spring Family Day
Military families, and those with access to Laughlin, can enjoy Spring Family Day at Laughlin Air Force Base, also on Saturday. Hosted at Building 390, the event brings games, live entertainment, and food for military families.
