The Whitehead Memorial Museum, 1308 S. Main St., will host its annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m.
Oktoberfest is a long-running museum fundraiser that brings the

community together with Bavarian-style food, live music, traditional attire and seasonal beer. The event has run for more than 30 years and is one of the museum’s primary fundraisers.
The Whitehead’s menu will include bratwurst, knockwurst and a Polish-style sausage. Michael Diaz, the museum’s director, said a new item this year is a sausage kolache. German potato salad, coleslaw and sauerkraut will also be on the menu.
Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Bundles of eight cost $320. Diaz said more than 200 tickets have sold, and organizers are still inviting people to attend.
Music will be provided by the Seven Dutchmen Orchestra, a New Braunfels-based group. The band has performed in Del Rio since 1996.
Diaz said the festival atmosphere—food, drinks and time with friends—keeps people coming back each fall. “We want people to come and enjoy their time at the museum,” he said.
The Whitehead is still accepting volunteers to help on the day of the event and on Sunday for cleanup from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
