NEWS — Early voting in Nov. 4 election begins Monday

Early voting in person in the Nov. 4 constitutional amendment and joint election begins Monday at the Del Rio Civic Center.

Persons who wish to cast an early ballot in person may do so in the Kennedy Room at the civic center, 1915 Veterans Blvd. Early voters from all county voting precincts can vote in person at the civic center through Thursday, Oct. 31.

Times for early voting in person at the civic center will be as follows:

  • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Oct. 24
  • 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26
  • 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27 through Friday, Oct. 31

Voters in all county precincts will be able to cast their ballots for or against 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution and three Val Verde County referendum measures regarding the construction of a second international bridge between Del Rio and Ciudad Acuña, Coah., Mexico.

Voters in county voting precincts inside the San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District – all county voting precincts except Precincts 32, 42 and 43 – will also be able to vote for or against a proposed $50 million bond being sought by the San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District. The three precincts whose voters will not be able to cast ballots in the bond election are located outside of the school district.

Val Verde County voters who do not cast early ballots in person will get another chance to vote on Election Day – Tuesday, Nov. 4.

On Election Day, voters will be required to cast ballots at a polling location set up for their specific precincts. Those polling locations will be as follows:

  • County voting precincts 10, 11, 12 and 13 – Joe Ramos Center, 1105 W. De La Rosa St.
  • County voting precincts 20, 22, 23 and 24 – Del Rio Civic Center, 1915 Veterans Blvd. 
  • County voting precinct 21 – Tony Faz County Annex Building, 315 E. Chapoy St.
  • County voting precincts 30, 31 and 33 – Northside Baptist Church, 1100 Amistad Blvd.
  • County voting precincts 40 and 41 – St. Joseph Church, 510 Wernett St.
  • County voting precincts 32, 42 and 43 – Comstock Community Center, 68 Langtry St., Comstock, Texas
