NOTICE OF 2026 SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION CANDIDATE FILING:
FIRST DAY TO FILE IS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 14, 2026
In accordance with the election calendar set by the Texas Secretary of State, the candidate-filing period
for the SFDRCISD school board election will begin on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. The
last day to file for a place on the ballot is Friday, February 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
School Board elections will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for the following positions:
Place I – Currently held by Mr. Jesus Emilio Galindo
Place III – Currently held by Mrs. Linda Guanajuato-Webb
Place IV – Currently held by Mr. Raymond P. Meza
Place V – Currently held by Mrs. Rebekah Luna Chavez
The San Felipe Del Rio CISD Board of Trustees is comprised of seven community members who are
elected at‐large for four‐year terms. The SFDRCISD Board of Trustees functions within the legal
parameters of the state and federal constitutions, statutes, courts, and administrative agencies. The
Board is charged with the responsibility of providing the finest educational program possible for the
students in the district. Trustees adopt a budget, which is necessary to maintain and operate the schools,
levy taxes to support the budget, and submit bond issues to the citizens of the district to finance future
projects. To be eligible for, or elected or appointed to, the office of Trustee, a person must meet the
eligibility requirements identified in accordance with Board Policy BBA(LEGAL).

Persons interested in becoming a candidate for the SFDRCISD School Board may obtain an application
packet in the Chief Administrative Officer’s office in the SFDRCISD Student Performance and
Administration Building located at 315 Griner St. The candidate’s packet contains instructions, an
