Del Rioans with opinions or comments on water and wastewater rate increases proposed by the city are invited to speak during a public hearing on Friday.
The public hearing is set to begin at 6 p.m. Friday in the Red Oak Ballroom of the Del Rio Civic Center, 1915 Veterans Blvd. The public hearing on water and wastewater rate increases is part of a special city council meeting.
Following the public hearing, during which citizens may speak to the council about the proposed rates, city administrators will give a presentation on the proposed new rates, which, if approved by the Del Rio City Council, will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2026.

City council won’t vote on the proposed new rates during Friday’s special meeting. An ordinance addressing the proposed new rates will be taken up during the council’s regular meeting on Dec. 16.
