Pla-Mor Bowling Center in Del Rio is offering free arcade games every Friday evening as part of
an effort to give families a low-cost entertainment option at the end of the week.
Tristan Vela, owner of the 15,800-square-foot facility, located at 1201 N. Bedell Ave., said the
idea came from noticing that Friday nights can sometimes be quiet in the community.
“Sometimes the Rams are playing, so everyone is out supporting them,” Vela said. “However, it
seems like sometimes everything is just dead in the community. So, we thought we’d make our
games free, just to give families and people a chance to come in and try the games and have
some fun on a budget. How do you beat free?”
Vela said the free arcade games are available every Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., allowing guests
unlimited access to the arcade during that time, as long as the numbers permit.
Some of the games are virtual reality, Jurassic Park, free throw competition, laser tag and other
shooting games.
“We always have steps in place to ensure everyone has an equal chance,” Vela said. While
bowling remains the centerpiece of the business, Pla-Mor also offers laser tag, party and event
rentals, food and drinks, and a full arcade lineup for all ages.
Vela said the promotion is designed to make Friday nights more accessible and welcoming for
local families. “For a business to succeed in the community, they have to give back, and this is
just our way of giving back,” he said.
Pla-Mor Bowling Center is open seven days a week, with regular hours from noon to midnight.
