Publisher’s Note: We are working on keeping a comprehensive list of all cancellations, impacts and reopenings. However, as much as we want this list to be comprehensive, we know it’s not. We have two child care centers down as closed. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your child care center if it’s not listed. We won’t be hurt if you double check.
Sadly, we woke up to 660 homes in Del Rio out of power this morning, according to AEP. Power should be back on at 11, AEP predicts. However, trash trucks are rolling, Val Verde County offices open at 10, City of Del Rio offices will open at 1 p.m.
Nearly 100 businesses have notified us they are opening regular, late or not at all. Those that notified us can be found here. We’d like to spend some time adjusting and making sure everything looks perfect. However, after spending three hours on it last night, we’re just going to tell you where the source is and let the community keep it going. I’ll stay out of your way. But if you need to know if your day care is open, it’s your first stop.
What’s Opening
Platform Waste is running normal routes and completing regular Monday trash pickups.
City of Del Rio offices will open at 1 p.m.
Val Verde County offices will open at 10 p.m.
Val Verde Regional Medical Center is open normal hours.
City has opened a warming center at the Chihuahua Center at 1401 Las Vacas Center at 6 p.m. Saturday and will remain open until noon Monday.
According to AEP, Kinney County has opened a warming center in Brackettville at 408 S Ann St, Brackettville, Jimmy Earnest, Open 10AM – 6PM 1/24 and 1/25/26.

Brackettville, Comstock and ALL schools in Del Rio are closed Monday.
