Long-time establishment, Blue Oasis Bar & Grill, located at 3806 Veterans Blvd, will be offering several options for couples dining for the week leading to Valentine’s Day.

Blue Oasis, owned by Jimmy Roberts, is found on the north side of Del Rio and delivers a casual atmosphere to dine in at with a variety of food including burgers, tacos, pasta, fish and shrimp. The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Jaymi Rodriguez, general manager of the Blue Oasis, spoke with The 830 Times early in the week to give some information on the restaurant. Rodriguez said the Blue Oasis first opened during 2013 and has endured by being a “very family-oriented” restaurant.

“(The staff) is like a big family there; we all take care of each other and I feel like the environment where you work is kind of what makes you succeed, and I feel like that’s how we made it so far and been so good (as a business),” Rodriguez said.

Blue Oasis has started selling unique festive cocktails in the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day, including Kiss Me I’m Caffeinated Espresso Martini, Be Mine Mule, and Too Hot To Handle. The bar will also sell chocolate-covered strawberry shots.

Aside from its drinks, the Blue Oasis will also offer chicken-fired steak dinner specials, which come with two sides, toast and a salad, for $15.95. One of the other unique aspects of the Blue Oasis’ food is that it is all handmade. Rodriguez said their cooks do not operate off of frozen foods and hand make everything each day, including hand battering their chicken-friend steaks.

Rodriguez also said the catfish platters and Philly cheesecakes are the most popular item customers get. Rodriguez mentioned how hard-working their staff is and thanked the Del Rio community for its support of the Blue Oasis.

“Our clients are the most important thing, and we definitely want to emphasize that. We are super thankful to all of Del Rio for coming out (to the Blue Oasis),” Rodriguez said.
