The following information was provided by the Del Rio Police Department.
On March 1, 2026, at approximately 9:42 p.m., officers with the Del Rio Police Department responded to Plaza Del Sol Mall near the Movies 8 parking lot in reference to a fight in progress.
Upon arrival, officers observed multiple males and females actively engaged in a physical
altercation. Officers immediately intervened and separated the involved parties.
The preliminary investigation revealed that while inside the movie theater, a family was approached by two female juveniles who expressed a desire to fight the family’s teenage member. The parties initially dispersed, and the incident was reported to theater staff.
According to the family, as they exited the theater, they were approached again by the same female juveniles, who were now accompanied by additional individuals. A physical altercation ensued between the female juveniles and the teenage family member.
An adult male family member attempted to intervene and separate those involved but was assaulted by other individuals participating in the disturbance. He sustained injuries to his face and head. A witness at the scene corroborated the adult male’s account and reported that he also attempted to break up the fight but was assaulted in the process. Both adult males declined medical attention.
Two female juveniles, ages 13 and 14, were taken into custody and charged with assault causing bodily injury.
Eduardo Daniel Salas, 17, and Alyssa Cedillo, 17, were also arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury. Salas and Cedillo were transported to the police station for processing and were later released to the custody of the GEO Correctional Facility pending magistration.
