Candidate Profile — Linda Guanajuato-Webb

Question 1: What are your experiences, personal and professional, that qualifies you to serve the community in this position?

“I have over 40 years of experience in the field of education within this district. My experience includes leadership and fiscal responsibility. I have served as an elementary teacher, gifted & talented teacher, bilingual teacher, counselor, district counselor supervisor, middle school assistant principal, bilingual coordinator, principal at multiple campuses, and director of Head Start.

“In addition, I obtained funding for the promotion of S.T.E.M. programs, the Fit Campus award, was recognized by President George W. Bush for the innovation and implementation of the first elementary newspaper within the fourth grade & gifted program co-edited by students, and received recognition in the TEXAS CEO magazine for generation integration of music, science, and technology preparing every child to excel beginning with Head Start.”


Question 2: What do you believe is the most important work of the SFDR-CISD Board of Trustees over the next few years and how will you contribute to making that happen?

“The most important work of a Trustee is to understand that the board functions as a team of eight. It is vital that the district recruit and retain quality staff and teachers, provide the necessary staff development, and have a strong commitment to campus safety while at the same time maintaining high academic standards.

“My 40 years of dedication to the district is a testament to my commitment and dedication to student achievement, rigorous instruction, evidence-based curricula and innovative learning where all students reach their potential.

“Having a two-way communication between all stake holders, community and parental engagement, ensuring that business is conducted with integrity and transparency.”
