Cinco de Mayo celebrations
MAY 2–5 — Cinco de Mayo festivities will take place at Historic Brown Plaza, 305 E. Canal St., beginning Sunday and continuing through Tuesday. Events run Sunday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The opening ceremony begins Sunday at 4 p.m., followed by the Parade of Nations at 7:45 p.m.

Fresca Palapa grand opening
MAY 2 — The Del Rio Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting for Fresca Palapa Del Rio, 1750 Veterans Blvd., on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Free drink samples and live music will be provided.

Paint a keepsake for mom
MAY 2 — Build a handmade gift at a workshop at McCoy’s Building Supply, 805 Spur 239, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dinosaur George Museum
MAY 2 — Dinosaur George returns with his traveling museum at the Del Rio Civic Center, 1915 Veterans Blvd., on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $3 for children and $5 for adults.

Sip & Paint: Mommy & Me (Toddler Edition)
MAY 2 — Marcos Mares Art Studio will host art classes for mothers and children ages 1–3 on Saturday. Sessions are at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Admission is $40. Call 830-245-4686 for more information.

New World screwworm webinar
MAY 6 — Join a free Zoom webinar about the New World screwworm, hosted by Devil’s River Conservancy and Texas Wildlife Association, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Register at www.tinyurl.com/newworldscrewworm-webinar.

Powderpuff football game
MAY 6 — Watch Del Rio High School students compete at Walter Levermann Stadium, 100 Memorial Drive, on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Community Mental Health Awareness Luncheon
MAY 7 — West Texas Counseling & Guidance will host a luncheon at Border Federal Credit Union, 2211 N. Bedell Ave., from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Mother’s Day Sip & Shop
MAY 9 — Three Sisters TX will host a Sip & Shop event at Conrad’s Casita, 650 S. Main St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mother’s Day Pop-Up Market
MAY 9 — Pop Up DRTX will host a market at the Kress Building, 720 S. Main St., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mother’s Day Celebration
MAY 9 — Queen City Market will host a celebration with arts, crafts, food and music at Ramon Imports, 5601 E. U.S. Highway 90, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Del Rio Comic Con
MAY 9–10 — The 15th annual Del Rio Comic Con will take place at the Del Rio Civic Center, 1915 Veterans Blvd., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
