Radney Foster has been released from the intensive care unit following a serious infection that led to his hospitalization and stay in a Nashville hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. .
The news came as Foster and fellow Texas music artist Kelly Willis postponed a string of upcoming shows, per Foster’s doctor’s advice. Though his condition is improving, doctors have advised him to step away from touring and focus entirely on his health.

In a message shared with fans, Foster’s team wrote:
“We’re sorry to announce that the Radney Foster/Kelly Willis shows this weekend are being rescheduled.
Radney is recovering from a serious infection that required hospitalization. While he is improving and has been released from the ICU, his doctors have advised him to take time away from the road to focus on his health.
We know this is disappointing news, and this decision was not made lightly. Please contact the venues for information on the rescheduled dates.
Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and your support as Radney continues to recover.”
The affected dates appear to be the June 11 show in Chicago, Ill; June 12 in Ann Arbor, MI and likely the June 13 show in Columbus, Ohio, all

part of the current Radney Foster/Kelly Willis “Songs & Stories” run.
A Del Rio native, Foster has spent more than 40 years as a singer-songwriter and recording artist. Many of his songs have drawn on his experiences growing up in Del Rio and along the Texas border. No additional information about his condition or a timeline for his return to touring was immediately available.
