From staff reports
State Rep. James Talarico will visit Del Rio voters from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday at Memo’s Restaurant as he campaigns for the U.S. Senate.
Memo’s Restaurant is located at 804 E. Losoya Street.
The event is part of Talarico’s Frontera Tour, a 750-mile bus tour through Texas border communities.
Talarico’s campaign staff said the tour is designed to highlight issues including border security, water infrastructure, health care, job creation and the cost of living.
Scheduled stops include El Paso, Marfa, Alpine, Sanderson, Del Rio, Eagle Pass, Laredo, McAllen and Edinburg.
The campaign staff says the tour is intended as a chance for the candidate to engage directly with border residents and discuss solutions to challenges facing communities along the Texas-Mexico border.
In a post on the Senate candidate’s website about the stop, Talarico’s team posted the following:
“Gather with your family, friends, and neighbors to hear from James about taking his fight against Big Money and corruption to Washington. Together, we can win back power for working people in a system that’s rigged for the ultra-wealthy.
“Learn how to get involved with our campaign, pick up some new merch, and get energized with us for the road ahead. The program will be short, and you’ll have the opportunity to say hello to James after!”
Talarico is the Democratic Party nominee for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by John Cornyn. Talarico will face the Republican Party nominee, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, in the November General Election.
