The No. 4-ranked Class 1A Comstock Panthers placed third in a competitive 16-team field Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Junction cross country meet.
Comstock finished behind state-ranked Class 2A Mason and Class 5A San Angelo Lake View.
The Panthers competed only in the high school divisions.
Noah Bahena led the varsity boys with a fourth-place finish in 16 minutes, 36.3 seconds.
In the junior varsity boys race, Anthony Carston captured first place with a time of 19:11.4.
Steven Kaler added a sixth-place finish in 20:52.1.
Sophia Flores paced Comstock’s girls by placing third in 15:27.7.
Charlotte Kennedy followed with a sixth-place finish in 16:00.5.
The Panthers will compete Friday at the HOKA Invitational on the state cross country course in Round Rock.
