Charles Pierce has brought an all-new meaning to the term “going postal.”
The long-time U.S. Postal Service employee, who’s been delivering mail and service to Del Rio customers for more than 20 years, has made a huge difference in his community thanks to the doses of positivity he administers daily to customers.
The Del Rio Community Spotlight, a Facebook group with more than 36,000 followers/likers, gave Pierce a “Spotlight” thanks to a nomination by Stacey Covarrubias and her family. A Spotlight is when they highlight someone’s efforts.
Stacey’s nomination read: CJ Pierce, a postal service worker that ALWAYS shows up and goes above & beyond to make sure you’re having the best day possible should be recognized!! Anyone that has gone into the post office and has been greeted by his famous “How are you doing today fantastic customer?!” can tell you that he is the epitome of a true “people person”! He can completely turn anyone’s bad day into a better day with his wonderful demeanor and always upbeat attitude!!! We need more people like him in our community!! God Bless you Mr. Pierce!!!
In less than 15 hours, the post had received 472 comments, more than 130 shares and nearly 3,000 reactions.
