If the Del Rio Queens soccer team keeps up this pace, they’re going to wear out all the scoreboards in District 30-6A.

The Queens upped their district record to 5-0-0, earning 15 points, and sit alone atop the district standings.

This past week, Del Rio won both its matches by a combined score of 15-0 including a 10-0 rout of Laredo Alexander Feb. 15 in front of the home fans at Walter Levermann Ram Stadium.

Jadyn Casillas scored the first and third goals for Del Rio. The first came off an assist from Giselle Castañeda and the second came off a penalty kick.

Cassandra Ochoa recorded the second goal, also off a penalty kick.

Isabella Ignacio scored goal number four off an assist from Casillas.

Kayla De Los Santos, with an assist from Ignacio, was responsible for goal number five.

Kayla Celedon earned goal number six, an Olimpico goal, in which she scored off a corner kick without anyone else touching the ball before it sailed into the net.

Mia Ortiz was credited with goals seven and eight. Yasmine Cardenas assisted on goal seven, and Celedon assisted on goal eight.

Alondra Sanchez made it 9-0 thanks to an assist from Kaylee Hernandez.

Capping off the scoring was Hernandez, as she scored the 10th goal thanks to an assist from Isabella Ignacio.

Saturday, Del Rio traveled to Laredo to take on United South.

The Queens returned home with a 5-0 win, their third consecutive shutout.

Ochoa scored one goal and assisted on two others. Casillas scored twice, with assists from Celedon and Castañeda, and Castañeda notched the other two goals, with assists from Ochoa both times.

Del Rio was scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 22, when they hosted the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles at 6:30 p.m. That night will also be Parent/Senior Night for the Queens.

The Queens will have an off day on Friday before beginning the second half of district play Tuesday, March 1, when they host the Laredo LBJ Lady Wolves at 6:30 p.m.
