Texas Department of Transportation announced that they will be working on Hwy. 277, between Eagle Pass and Del Rio, beginning 7 a.m. Monday March 28. The announcement came via a news release sent to media outlets at about 11:30 Sunday morning. The biggest impact will come to the more than 1,000 civilian employees at Laughlin AFB, many who travel along that road and have received less than 24 hours of notice.

WHAT: US 277 lane closures, two-way traffic control, and temporary traffic signals between Del Rio and Eagle Pass
WHEN: Beginning Monday, Mar. 28, 2022, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for one month
WHERE: United States Highway (US) 277 in Val Verde, Kinney, and Maverick counties
LAREDO – Lane closures and one lane, two-way traffic control will affect United States Highway (US) 227, at various locations, between the Del Rio and Eagle Pass for approximately one month to allow highway widening work and the construction of Super 2 passing lanes. The initial work includes box culvert work four miles south of Del Rio in the vicinity of the State Loop 79 intersection.
The use of temporary traffic signals on planned highway work will control traffic flow through the work zone, one direction at a time.
