A man who allegedly kicked his way into a woman’s home was arrested and charged with felony home burglary, police said.

Rogelio Treviño Jr., 35, 211 Lorean Drive, was arrested at 9:41 p.m. on July 11 and charged with the offense of burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony, according to a report released recently by the Del Rio Police Department.

In an affidavit filed in the case, DRPD Officer Christian Lopez wrote he was dispatched to 304 E. Virginia St. at 9:15 p.m. July 11 after police received a call about a disturbance in progress.

Lopez reported police dispatchers advised him they could hear a man yelling in the background while they were on the phone with the female caller. Lopez said the dispatchers also advised him the call had come in as a 9-1-1 call.

“Del Rio communications advised the caller was Marai Valadez Mayorga, and the unwanted male was Rogelio Treviño Jr. We have an extensive history with both subjects where Mayorga has called for Treviño being unwanted at the residence,” Lopez wrote.

“On arrival, I spoke with Mayorga who was standing outside the residence. Mayorga stated Treviño was inside the residence in the kitchen. While still outside I could hear Treviño yelling from inside the residence,” Lopez wrote.

The officer reported he entered the home and began speaking to Treviño, who “was still extremely irate.”

“Treviño displayed both verbal and physical aggression towards officers by making fists with his hands and continuing to yell profanities at officers. Officers were eventually able to calm Treviño down enough to place in the back of (a) marked patrol unit,” Lopez wrote.

Lopez said Mayorga told officers, “Treviño had kicked open the door at the rear of the residence and began throwing and breaking various items inside the residence. Mayorga stated Treviño had also pushed her against a glass mirror with enough force to shatter the glass.”

Lopez reported he arrested Treviño on the felony home burglary charge and transported him to the police station for processing.

Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 Hilda Lopez set a bond of $25,000 in the case.
