Local Christian station raising support, offers free concerts

A local Christian radio station is asking viewers to step up and support their ministry Friday and Saturday.

Local Christian radio station KVFE, 88.5, raises 15 percent of their support from the 3-day drive, called a Shar-a-thon, the station’s general manager Joshua Guevera said.

“We are a part of a small group of radio stations, we are locally run and locally operated, we are not controlled or funded by a large commercial company in California or New York. When you call the station you are calling us here in Del Rio. We are from here, we live here and we have a passion for the community.”  said Guevera.

Friday will have two special guest announcers via zoom. ““JC” from our sister stations KBNJ of Corpus Christi and, former KVMV FM (McAllen) announcer/production member, now two time Emmy award winner, television producer Norma Lopez,” said Guevera.

Saturday will feature two live performances that will be shown on Facebook live. Local artist Nick Lozano and Rio Grande Valley rising star Mathew Maciel will perform original songs.

The station is a ministry of inspiracom. Inspiracom is a non-profit evangelical, interdenominational faith mission involved in radio broadcasting primarily along the U.S. / Mexico border from Brownsville, Texas to Yuma, Arizona.

People can connect with the station on their Facebook page or www.kvferadio.com.
