The San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District have made several advances to make life easier for sports fans during COVID-19 times.
Paperless tickets
Del Rio High School sports fans will have an opportunity to purchase limited seating for all of SFDR’s athletic events directly on the SFDRCISD Athletic Department’s webpage at www.sfdr-cisd.org/athletics.
In order to purchase a ticket, interested persons must successfully complete their order online, and a virtual ticket will be sent to their e-mail address.
On the day of the event, ticket holders will be able to enter the event by showing their virtual ticket on their phone to the gatekeeper. No tickets will be sold at the events and no money will be exchanged.
Fans should also prepare to be prescreened for COVID-19 before entering the event. As a precaution for the safety of our athletes and others, we urge all individuals to remain at home if they or anyone in their household is sick.
Live streaming games
SFDRCISD’s Athletic Director Ricky Smith and the SFDR Communications team have coordinated to ensure fans who don’t get to attend the game in person, get the opportunity to view a live feed of all sports events on the SFDR’s You Tube link.
Smith said, “In talking with our superintendent, Dr. Carlos Rios, we thought that this was a good opportunity to increase the number of in-town fans and visitor’s fans who don’t get the opportunity to travel and watch their athletes play. Our next livestream sports event will be held this coming Saturday, October 17th. DRHS Team tennis will have a match with Laredo’s United South at 9:00 a.m., and the Queens varsity volleyball team will also showdown with Laredo’s United South’s Panthers at 1:00 p.m. Whether you’re attending the game in person or watching the live broadcast, we hope you’ll join us in supporting our student athletes!
