City of Del Rio Police Department press release
On April 22nd, 2023 at approximately 6:19 p.m. Del Rio Police Department officers responded to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for a report of a sexual assault of a child. Upon arrival, police met with a female adult who reported a female child made an outcry of continuous sexual abuse.
The child reported details of the sexual abuse that met the criminal elements of continuous sexual abuse of a child. Child Protective Services were notified, and the child was medically evaluated.
On 04/24/2023 an Arrest Warrant was obtained. On 04/25/2023 the suspect identified as Rogelio Gallegos Jr. 30 years of age, was arrested without incident. An Emergency Protective Order Application was filed on behalf of the child victim and her household members.
Rogelio Gallegos Jr. was arrested and charged with the offense of Sexual Abuse of a Child Continuous: Child Under 14.
