SFDRCISD press release — Our law local law enforcement community (Del Rio PD, VVC Sheriff’s Office, and SFDR Police) have been working throughout the night investigating leads to the origins of a text message and social media postings that have been circulating warning of a possible threat to different schools here locally, in Eagle Pass and in Uvalde.
Unfortunately, as the anniversary of the Uvalde tragedy approaches, we will see more people wanting to scare and disrupt our schools. Please know that we will not dismiss any threat and will ensure our teachers are vigilant and that your students are safe. Also know that if the authors of these messages are found, SFDRCISD will pursue criminal charges to the fullest extent.
Most importantly, as is our protocol, we will continue to assign a police officer on campus. Ou local law enforcement community has pledged to increase their patrol at all our schools.
