Val Verde County Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez just sent the following information to 830 Times staff.
The Val Verde County Sheriffs Office is currently investigating a suspicious device in Val Verde Park Estates. Resident on Grissom Drive from Texas Street to Lisa Street will be evacuated. Residents on Rusty Drive will also be evacuated. Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez has requested the assistance of a specialized task force to assist in the investigation. As more information becomes available the Sheriffs office will advise.
He later added that a temporary shelter has been set up at the Tony Faz Center 315 East Chapoy.
