A Del Rio man is bringing his fireworks show back to Del Rio, as he aims to light up the community, in a good way.
Robert Palacio, owner of Palacio Fireworks & Pyrotechnics, has expanded his fireworks retail store into three Del Rio locations and two others in Eagle Pass and Odessa.
Meanwhile, he and representatives of his company, Palacio Fireworks & Pyrotechnics, travel the state and parts of the nation making customers ooh and aah as they put on fireworks demonstrations.
“Del Rio is my hometown and I love it,” he said. “I love serving my

community here with recreational options.”
Palacio loves his community so much he’s provided several free shows in the area just because he loves the town. “At the last show we did at the Duck Pond, I saw hundreds of cars down there of people watching the show, and I knew those were my people.”
The pyrotechnics side of the business has had demonstrations at an Odessa minor league game, the Duck Pond demonstration and numerous private events, and Palacio has served as a consultant on some larger events.
The connections he’s made through his pyrotechnics business helps his booming retail outlets.
“I’m able to make connections in the pyrotechnics business that help me get hard-to-get fireworks here,” he said. He’s had several clients drive more than six hours to get fireworks from him here in Del Rio. His inventory is able to support bulk purchases.
This year, Palacio Fireworks is promoting its services around the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration, offering military discounts, bulk purchasing options, professional display services and designated shooting areas.
The company opened its seasonal locations June 24 and plans to operate through July 5.
Customers can choose from more than 1,200 fireworks products at their SuperCenter location across from Laughlin AFB on Hwy. 90. Palacio also has two other locations at 4779 West on US 90 and 4957 West on US 90.
The company is also offering a 10% military discount at its supercenter location and bulk purchasing options through July 1.
Palacio Fireworks also promotes a designated shooting area for customers who want a place to use fireworks during the holiday season.
“Our fireworks business is just like our paintball business (he also owns Adrenaline paintball located behind the SuperCenter location),” Palacio said. “Safety has to come first and when someone buys fireworks from us, we consider them our friend and we want them to stay safe.”
