The Del Rio Chamber of Commerce’s Special Projects Committee is offering two firearm raffles ahead of the 38th Wild Game Dinner, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Del Rio Civic Center.
A three-gun special raffle will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, with the drawing broadcast live at 4 p.m. on the chamber’s Facebook page. Winners will also be announced on social media, according to Jimmy Murdoch, chairman of the Chamber’s special projects committee.
The event helps finance the chamber’s advocacy efforts and provides scholarships for local high school seniors.
Prizes include a Browning AB3 .270 rifle, a Henry Golden Boy .22 LR rifle and a Weatherby Element 20-gauge shotgun.
Organizers are advertising half-price raffle tickets, with packages of 50 tickets for $25 or 100 tickets for $50. Tickets will still be eligible for one of the 100 guns raffled off in the December event.
A separate bonus raffle will feature three handguns, with raffle cards available for $20 each. Three decks of 54 cards will be sold, with one deck assigned to each handgun. The handgun selections and drawing date were not specified in the promotional materials.
Tickets and cards can be purchased at the chamber office, 1915 Veterans Blvd., by calling 830-775-3551 or through a member of the Special Projects Committee.
Blanca Larson, Del Rio Chamber of Commerce President and CEO said buyers unable to visit the office can pay by phone by calling 830-775-3551 and receive a photograph of their ticket numbers or card assignment.
Winners do not have to be present. According to organizers, out-of-town and out-of-state winners may have firearms shipped to a licensed firearms dealer at their own expense.
The iconic Dec. 5 Wild Game Dinner will include a gun raffle and auction along with a dinner featuring a number of foods from throughout the region. Sponsorship tables are available, and additional information can be obtained by calling the chamber at 830-775-3551.
