COMMUNITY — Del Rio Hispanic Chamber honors 2024 award winners

The Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognized local leaders, entrepreneurs and businesses Thursday morning during its 2024 awards ceremony at the Falcon Bank community room.

The event honored individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to business, public service and economic development in the Del Rio area.

Laura Rojas, owner of Del Rio’s Keller Williams, was named Business Woman of the Year, while Alfonso Garcia of Real Estate Solutions received the Business Man of the Year award.

James Baker, owner of Gatti’s Pizza, was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year.

Sunnyside Child Care received the Small Business of the Year award, and Ramada by Wyndham was named Large Business of the Year.

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Advocate of the Year was awarded to past DRHCC president Isidro Valdez, executive director of the Housing Authority of the City of Del Rio.

Esmeralda Meza,  the City of Del Rio Community Services Director and a very active volunteer in the community, received the Legacy Award.

Catholic Charities was named Non-Profit of the Year, while Mayor Al Arreola received the Public Service Award.

The Rising Star of the Year award was presented to Abram Rodriguez of Border Federal Credit Union.

The Del Rio Hispanic Chamber annually honors community members and businesses whose leadership and service reflect the chamber’s mission to promote Hispanic commerce and professional growth.
