The School Board recognizes support by local businesses at Monday’s school board
meeting.

Amy Childress mentioned the businesses at the meeting during the Businesses Standing Up
For Public School annual recognition program presentation.

Childress said the program was established by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB)
to celebrate the important support provided by local communities, express appreciation to those
who stand up for schools and encourage more businesses to participate in similar community
services.

“The support of local businesses and other community organizations is vitally important to our
district. These collaborative efforts yield creative exciting opportunities for students as they
advance their learning,” Childress said.

The San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees and
Administration appreciate their support,” Childress added.

Childress then listed the businesses and organizations being represented, and a representative(s) walked on stage to receive a certificate of appreciation. The businesses and
organizations represented were Amistad Funeral Home, Border Federal Credit
Union, Cadena Family Practice, Chick-Fil-A, Community Angels, Connect Del Rio, DLP
