Jeremy Rosado has sung on some of the biggest stages in America — American Idol, The Voice, and even a return to NBC just last week to film a special segment in Los Angeles.

On Sunday, he brings that same energy, humility and faith to Del Rio for a concert at Esperanza First Baptist Church, located at 301 Ave. G at 7 p.m.

Rosado’s journey to those national stages wasn’t quick or easy. He auditioned four times for American Idol before finally earning his spot.

He stood in line outside the arena with 10,000 others. “We would go into the arena and they had 20 tables, four of us would go to a table,” he said. When he sang You Are by Ron Kenoly, the judges told them thank you, and only one would advance.

“They pointed at me, and I was like, ‘Me?’ and I did a 360,” he said. But that was only the first step. He still had to clear three more rounds before reaching the main judges’ panel of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

When he finally received his golden ticket — which, ironically, was red — Rosado said the moment was life-changing. “I went from singing in church in front of 45 people, to singing in front of 22 million,” he said.

After finishing 11th on American Idol, Rosado could have chased fame full time. But family came first. A relative was in a difficult situation and unable to provide for their daughter, so Rosado stepped in.

“She needed someone to be there, and so I felt like I got to step in and help,” he said. He became his niece’s guardian, pouring much of his life into raising her. Today, at 22, she’s thriving.

As Rosado described her successes from an airport lounge in New York, he beamed. “She’s in college working toward a full-time job. It’s a really beautiful story. But in the middle of it, it wasn’t so easy, and I just thank God for being there and guiding me.”

For seven years, Rosado put his music on the back burner. Then The Voice came calling. In Season 21, both Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton turned their chairs during his blind audition. He chose Clarkson, a move that relaunched his career and eventually led to a contract with Capitol Music Group.

Now, with more than 250 shows behind him, a niece who is thriving and renewed focus on his music and ministry, Rosado is once again traveling the country — from New York to Florida to Texas.

“The road has been amazing,” he said. “We’re just following the shows, making this happen. God’s been doing amazing things.”

Though fans often ask him about his reality-TV days, Rosado embraces that chapter. “I’m not tired of it,” he said with a laugh. “It’s part of my story, and I’m thankful for it. Being back on The Voice stage this past week reminded me how far I’ve come.”

He credits his time working with Clarkson as one of the most impactful parts of his career. “It was such a cool blessing,” he said. “Being back at Universal Studios was triggering in the best way — it brought back so many memories.”

For Del Rio, Sunday’s concert offers the chance to hear not just Rosado’s powerful voice but also the heart of an artist who has overcome obstacles, embraced responsibility, and stayed rooted in faith.

General admission tickets are $15 and a Meet and Greet with early admission is $30. Tickets are available online at iamjeremyrosado.com or by calling 830-313-1199.

Here’s what The Voice Coaches said about him:

  • Blake Shelton (Top 10 elim. show):
“Hey man, not that it matters, but that’s two country songs in a row, and I love that! … It’s hard to put together reasons that make sense that anyone is in the bottom three. It makes no sense because you’re all so talented.” Taste of Country
  • Kelly Clarkson (Challenge Week – “Freedom Was a Highway”):
“Jeremy, we all know you can sing the hell out of a ballad, but my man, you are really great at uptempo! That was so powerful! Your voice was magical! Taste of Country
  • Ariana Grande (same episode, reaction to Jeremy):
“I always look forward to your performances… you could sing the phone book, and I’d be in.”
