A former Laughlin Air Force Base reservist who has performed numerous local shows in the Ramada’s Grand Ballroom, Paul Poag Theatre and Del Rio Civic Center is scheduled to appear Wednesday night on the late-night television program “Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen,” according to a CBS program release.

Jose Sarduy, an Air Force Academy graduate who completed pilot training in Del Rio, served much of his nearly three-decade military career

Sarduy’s growing list of national television credits includes NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” where he was a featured contestant. He has also performed stand-up on “The Tonight Show” and appeared in nationally televised comedy showcases on Comedy Central and Showtime.

He also has one of the most-watched specials on Dry Bar Comedy.

Wednesday, Sarduy will be part of a panel that includes comedians Heather Shaw, Bruce Bruce and Noah Gardenswartz on the episode airing March 18.

“Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen” features a rotating panel of stand-up comedians delivering short monologues and humorous takes on everyday topics in a talk-show format hosted by Byron Allen, according to the CBS release.
