Sandra Felix, of the city’s human resources department, read the name of each city employee who is a veteran and gave the branch of service in which he served. Those employees attending the council meeting were called to the front of the council chambers, presented with a small U.S. flag and congratulated by Mayor Bruno “Ralphy” Lozano and Interim City Manager John Sheedy.

“We would like to honor all of our city of Del Rio employees who served and continue to serve in the U.S. military. We thank you for your service, your bravery, your sacrifice and your love for your country. Happy Veterans Day,” Felix said.

After reading the veterans’ names, Felix performed a moving a cappella rendition of the National Anthem.
