Ranchito Los Hermanos is a family-owned petting farm located on East side of Del Rio where people can meet lots of cute animals, learn horseback riding and have parties.
Desiderio Tiscareno, owner of Ranchito Los Hermanos, said opening up the petting farm has been a dream for him and his family ever since they moved from California to live in Texas. He said they have had a good turnout when they first opened up on May 1, 2023.
Ranchito Los Hermanos has a variety of options for parties and field trips ranging from $200 to $500, including mobile trips where they can bring their animals to other locations and events.
“It’s gratifying for myself and for the families and friends that come to enjoy (the farm),” Tiscareno said. You see people enjoy it and it’s really nice and it’s special to share with everybody,”
Tiscareno said they try to take in as many animals as they can. He said their petting farm focuses on giving calmer lives to animals they have gotten from auctions and from other owners.
Some of their well-known animals include “Daisy Mae” the Charolais cow and “Chico” the miniature horse, who they give pony rides on. Other animals they have include horses, potbellied pigs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, sheep and goats.
Tiscareno said money from admission goes into helping the farm grow and house more animals in the future.
The next upcoming events the farm will have include a fall festival every Saturday in October.
The petting farm is located on 432 Lowe Dr and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Wednesday to Sunday. General admission is $8 for audits, $5 for ages twelve and under, and free for two-year-olds and younger.
