The community is invited to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Conrad’s Casita, 648 S. Main
St., on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Conrad’s Casita has become known for selling home decor products and supplies for
handmade projects, seasonal events and journaling necessities. The store sells items such as
dried and artificial plants, ribbons, vinyl and ribbons for crafting, decorative planters and items
for journaling such as a selection of dot-grid notebooks, notecards, pencils, pens and stickers.
The store housing Conrad’s Casita was originally named Casa De Toni and was owned by John
and Yon Conrad. Conrad’s Casita opened on Aug. 16, 2025, and is currently owned and
operated by Antoinette “Toni” Conrad (the daughter of John and Yon) and her husband, Armando Arteago, who is also involved with the store by working with UV printing and creating engravings for the items they sell.
Conrad talked with The 830 Times early in the week about her store and how business has
been since she opened it a year ago. Conrad said the store has leaned into more “plant decor”
items, adding the store’s gallery has grown by including products from other businesses.
Saturday’s anniversary event will include 11 vendors, several of whom have collaborated with
Conrad’s Casita in the past, offering snacks, drinks and various household items. Music will be
provided by DJ Karma from noon to 4 p.m. Conrad said there will be complimentary food and
drinks, and a raffle will take place, highlighting new items Conrad received recently.
“This (event) is a celebration, and we are excited to still be here; we are excited to share this
space (with other vendors). It is nice to share the day with people who are close to us; it is nice
to share the day with customers who have supported us in the last year,” Conrad said.
Conrad said they have grown from what she and her husband have envisioned based on how
they help local artists and other businesses, adding she believes Del Rio’s historic downtown
has gotten busier. Conrad mentioned that she enjoys helping customers with picking products to buy and giving ideas when decorating their homes.
“It has been really great to not only see (the store) evolve within the last year not only with the things we like it be, but also seeing (the progress) in action has been great,” Conrad said. “Hopefully we just continue forward that way with great customers.”
