Del Rio’s very own William Beckmann, once known simply as Beck here, will be opening for Red Dirt icon Randy Rogers Band for two shows June 26 at John T. Floore Country Store.
It’s not often that we’ll do unpaid pushes for events outside the 830 area code, but when one of our favorite sons plays one of Red Dirt’s top venues, we make an exception. John T. Floore Country Store is 3 hours and 17 minutes from Del Rio to the storied Texas Dance Hall and honky tonk in Helotes, Texas.
Tickets range in price for $30 to $600 and the two shows are at 6:30 and 9 p.m.
It’s not Beckmann’s first interaction with Rogers. Rogers management company, Big Blind Management, manages Beckmann’s career.
“I was playing at an award show in Arlington. I had won the new faces music competition, which got me the opportunity to sing at the actual award show. After the show, Randy Rogers came up to me and asked me to come hang out with him on the tour bus. I did, and we drank beer and sang some songs in Spanish. And a few days later, Randy called me about signing with him,” Beckmann told The Daily Texan in October of 2019.
