On October 9, 2025, at approximately 6:16 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Avenue T in reference to a reported assault.
Upon arrival, officers met with a female victim who reported that
a known male, identified as Joshua Alexander Lumbreras, 26 years of age, had assaulted her, causing bodily injury throughout her body.
A witness at the scene told officers she heard a female screaming for help and allowed the victim and her children to take refuge inside her residence for safety.
The victim was transported to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for a medical assessment.
Officers later located Lumbreras in the 800 block of East 9th Street, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Assault Family/Household Member – Impede Breath/Circulation, Obstruct Emergency Telephone Call, and Terroristic Threat – Cause Fear of Imminent Serious Bodily Injury.
Lumbreras was subsequently released to the custody of the GEO Correctional Facility, pending the magistration process.
