Del Rio Police Department press release
On 11/11/2025 at approximately 8:52 p.m. a Del Rio Police Department officer was stationary at the 900 block of East Ogden Street when he observed a truck pulling a white trailer.
The officer had knowledge of a trailer that was stolen earlier that day. The vehicle attempted to make an illegal right turn, and a traffic stop was conducted.
Upon approaching the trailer, the officer saw a decal matching the description of the stolen trailer. The driver was identified as Gerald Ramos; 40 yrs. of age, the passenger was identified as Joanna Saldua; 45 yrs. of age. Saldua was the registered owner of the vehicle.
A preliminary investigation revealed both subjects were in the process of transporting the stolen trailer to another location.
Officers on scene discovered the trailer’s vehicle identification numbers had been tampered and were illegible. Additionally, the trailer’s license plate characters had been altered with a black marker.
Ramos and Saldua were arrested and charged with the offense of Theft of Property >=$2,500<$30,000. Both were transported to the police station for processing and were later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility pending magistration process.
