(From SFDRCISD) Last week, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) released guidance for school districts experiencing community spread of COVID-19, to temporarily suspend any summer workouts, rehearsals, practices and instruction beginning July 3 through July 12 in order to reduce the risk of exposure to the disease.
While the SFDRCISD Athletics Department is waiting to resume summer activities, they are also pending the release of guidance for individual sports for the 2020-2021 school year.
“Once we know what our athletic season will look like, we will promptly notify our Senior Pass customers, Reserved Seat ticket holders and team supporters” states, Athletic Director Ricky Smith.
SFDRCISD has been actively monitoring the Governor’s press conferences and released orders, participating in weekly meetings with the Commissioner of Education, and continuously reviewing the latest postings from the UIL for guidance on the reopening of schools in Texas this fall. Once information becomes available and local decisions have been established, SFDR will provide our SFDR families, viewers, and community a summary of the latest details regarding school instruction, athletics and other extra-curricular school activities.
