The 830 Times
Interim Del Rio City Manager John Sheedy Friday released the names and resumés of the four men who have been selected as finalists for the position of Del Rio Police Department chief.
The four finalists are, in alphabetical order, Aaron Vernon Ausmus, Robert “Bobby” Guzman Jr., Frank Ramirez and Richard “Rick” Roman.
Guzman and Roman are currently members of the Del Rio Police Department.
Roman currently serves as captain of the department’s enforcement division, and Guzman currently serves as captain of the department’s administrative division.
Ausmus most recently served as chief of the Angleton (Texas) Police Department, as well as the city’s interim and assistant emergency management coordinator, and Ramirez most recently served as administrative lieutenant for the Port Arthur (Texas) Police Department.
Sheedy released the names and resumés of the chief finalists following a public information request filed by The 830 Times with the city on Aug. 12.
Sheedy told The 830 Times Friday a total of 24 candidates had applied for the position.
The DRPD chief position became vacant with the retirement of Fred Knoll Jr. earlier this year.
