Local rapper releases 13-song album

By Joel Langton

A Del Rio rapper has just released a free full-length album.

Sam Ledezma, a radio morning show co-host on KDLK, a rapper, a former barista and performs under the name SVNTVZCRVZ released Between Time and Texas, a 13-song collection.

“I would consider myself an eclectic and eccentric person so it only made sense that my debut album would have that same sort of personality,” SVNTVZCRVZ said.

The album kicks off with the song Time, which sounds more like a choir of monks than Travis Scott and The Jack Boys. “It has 10 vocal parts I sang them all and then I layered them.”

He wasn’t in a high-tech recording studio but cleaned out a closet at home and recorded the entire album in there. “Once in there, I used different equipment with different audio interfaces  and microphones all through my laptop,” he said.

Like his hometown of Del Rio, the album merges many different flavors and flairs.

“I tried to include as much of my musical background as possible,” SVNTVZCRVZ said. “There are some songs you probably wouldn’t normally  find in a hip-hop project.”

He also made downloading the album inexpensive with a free price tag. “If anyone would like to support what I do monetarily, there are ways they can do that on the website but if anyone can’t afford it, well, everyone can afford free.”

More can be found at www.SVNTVZCRVZ.com as well as free downloads of the album.
