City of Del Rio Police Department press release
On March 8th, 2024 at 7:12 p.m. the Del Rio Police Department responded to the Plaza Del Sol Mall parking lot at the carnival area for a fight in progress. Upon arrival police discovered three juveniles assaulted an adult female and fled the scene on foot.
Police made contact with the victim who reported she was at the carnival with her juvenile daughter when the group approached her daughter to provoke a fight. The victim told police she placed herself between her daughter and the aggressors resulting in the assault. The victim had visible injuries to her face, arm, ear and elbow. Victim was thrown to the ground and kicked multiple times by the actors. A witness provided the suspects names to police, along with footage of the incident. Police were unable to locate the actors at the time. The case was forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation.
On March 13th, 2024 Detectives made contact with the three actors a 15-yr. old male, a 14-yr. old male, and a 13- yr. old female were taken into custody. The three juveniles all siblings were charged with the offense of Robbery, after Detectives discovered the victim dropped currency during the assault and the actors removed it prior to running away from the scene.
