Del Rio Police Department press release
On September 21, 2025, at approximately 5:11 p.m., the Del Rio Police Department responded to the 1400 block of Pierce Street regarding a 911 hang-up call. The Del Rio Emergency Communication Division advised that the call was disconnected
and there was no response on call-back.
and there was no response on call-back.Upon arrival, officers contacted a male subject who requested to be taken away by police. For safety reasons, the male subject was detained while officers continued their investigation.
Through the course of the investigation, police learned the male subject had engaged in a verbal altercation with a household member. The altercation escalated when the male struck the household member several times, causing bodily injury.
The subject, identified as Fernando Quiroz, 25 years of age, was arrested and charged with Assault Causes Bodily Injury/Family Violence.
Quiroz was transported to the police station for processing and later released to the custody of GEO Correctional Facility.
