Del Rio Police Department press release
On August 7, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m., the Del Rio Police Department responded to a burglary report in the 900 block of East 6th Street.
Upon arrival, officers searched the residence but did not locate a
suspect inside. The victim reported that a known male had entered her home without consent and stolen a cellphone.

The victim reported that a known male had entered her home without consent and stolen a cellphone.During a neighborhood canvass, a witness reported seeing a male matching the suspect’s description running southbound on Avenue J. Officers located and detained the suspect in the 300 block of Avenue J. The suspect had an active Criminal Trespass Warning for the victim’s residence.
A search of the area led officers to recover the victim’s cellphone in the 400 block of Avenue J. Although the suspect initially denied taking the phone, he later admitted to entering the residence and stealing it.
The suspect, identified as Marco Antonio Villanueva Jr., 31, was arrested for Burglary of a Habitation. He was transported to the Del Rio Police Department for booking and later released to the custody of the GEO Correctional Facility.
