NEWS — City of Del Rio Returns to Normal Water Operations; Stage II Water Restrictions Lifted Effective July 10

Press release from City of Del Rio

Based on a recommendation from the City’s Public Works Department and a review of current operational conditions, the City of Del Rio has officially terminated Stage II Water Conservation Measures and returned to Normal Water Operations, effective Friday, July 10, 2026.

Recent monitoring indicates that San Felipe Spring flows have remained above the threshold established in the City’s 2024 Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan, and the conditions that prompted Stage II restrictions no longer exist.

As a result, the City has returned to Normal Water Operations (No Watering Restrictions), and the outdoor watering restrictions associated with Stage II are no longer in effect.

While mandatory restrictions have ended, the City encourages residents and businesses to continue practicing responsible water use. Conserving water remains an important part of protecting Del Rio’s long-term water resources.

The Public Works Department will continue to monitor spring flows, reservoir levels, system demand, and other operational indicators in accordance with the City’s Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plan. Should conditions warrant, the City will promptly notify the public of any future changes.

The City of Del Rio thanks residents, businesses, and the community for their cooperation and commitment to water conservation during Stage II restrictions.
