Early voting is underway for a Nov. 2 election on eight proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.
Early voting for the election continues at the old county court-at-law building, 207 E. Losoya St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday, Oct. 29, said Val Verde County Clerk Generosa “Janie” Gracia-Ramon.
Val Verde County voters will be able to use the county’s new electronic voting equipment.
“This is our first election with all-new election equipment. The equipment is working efficiently and is being well received by the voters. It’s quick and easy,” Ramon told the 830 Times.
She added, “Please visit the elections tab of the Val Verde County Clerk’s website page for a video on the new equipment before going to vote. If you wish to have a one-on-one demonstration, please call the county clerk’s office at 830-774-7564 for an appointment. We are grateful to the Val Verde County Commissioners Court for their commitment to improving elections in our county.”
Voters will consider eight proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.
The eight proposed amendments deal with gambling, bond issues, religion, the state judiciary, health care and constitutional rights, property taxes and taxes and veterans.

On Election Day, Nov. 2, voters may cast ballots at four polling places from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Those polling locations and the voting precincts for each are as follows:
- Precincts 10, 11, 12 and 13 – Old county court-at-law building, 207 E. Losoya St.
- Precincts 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 – Del Rio Civic Center, 1915 Veterans Blvd.
- Precincts 30, 31, 32 and 33 0 4H barns, Val Verde County Fairgrounds, 2006 N. Main St.
- Precincts 40, 41, 42 and 43 – St. Joseph Church Parish Hall, 510 Wernett St.
